An Excerpt from Ordinary Mysteries The first Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection Filled with awe and great joy Experiences of death and resurrection, miracles and transformation, are not always as dramatic . . . . Yet, the elements are clearly present in daily life. We all know something about scars that draw us toward darkness, loss of faith, and hopelessness. The experience of suffering can become a silent scar blinding us to new possibilities and to love. The resurrection allows us to live with the reality that our lives are filled with both scars and transforming miracles. It teaches us that love is worth the risks. The women who went to the tomb to anoint Jesus body had vision scarred by the events of the crucifixion. They carried their sadness and their vulnerability. Yet, because of their fidelity, they were the first witnesses of the resurrection. In the wonder of loves transformation they could see the Risen Christ. |
