A Day for Remembrance
MKLM Missioner, Debbie Northern, serves in ministry in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. This is where the majority of AIDS cases in the country exist. Debbie provides education to prevent AIDS, and she provides care for those already impacted by it.
Here, Debbie shares an update on the work that your generosity makes possible.
“I have kept busy with preventative education workshops in schools and parishes. So far we’ve had more than 500 participants, the majority being teens and young adults who are at most risk to become infected with the HIV virus…”

Some of the graduates of the course have gone on to municipal and NGO jobs. | Women’s Group Helps Brazilian Women Find a Better Future Kathy Bond’s ministry is Women’s Rights Training, a project that trains Brazilian women to be instructors of workshops that help empower women. Some of the graduates of the course have gone on to municipal and NGO jobs, while expanding their participation in their communities by initiating additional women’s groups. Here, Kathy shares the story of Angela, just one of the hundreds of women helped, inspired by, and accompanied by her ministry… | “I’ve bought a plot of land and little by little I am constructing my home to free us of the burden of renting. The women’s group helped boost my self-confidence and I also went back to school at night to get my high school degree.”
